Main classification of hydraulic cylinders

Single-Acting Cylinders

A single acting hydraulic cylinder is a hydraulic device that can only generate one-way thrust through unilateral hydraulic oil pushing, and its reset needs to be completed by springs, self weight, or external loads. The device consists of a cylinder barrel, cylinder head, piston, piston rod, and sealing device. Hydraulic oil only acts on one side of the effective area of the piston, while the other end chamber is in contact with air.

Double-Acting Cylinders

Double acting hydraulic cylinder refers to a hydraulic cylinder that can input pressure oil from both sides of the piston. It is often used as a driving component for jacks. The actuator of a double acting hydraulic cylinder is the main output device of a hydraulic motion system. Although it varies in size, type, and design structure, this part is usually the most observable. These actuators convert liquid pressure into fast, controllable linear motion or force to drive the load.

A telescopic hydraulic cylinder, also known as a multi-stage hydraulic cylinder, consists of two or more pistons.
