The manufacturing process of plastic gears is not complicated, but it requires high details. Raydafon usually uses injection molding to complete the mass production of plastic gears. The raw materials are mainly engineering plastics such as POM, PA66, and PEEK, and the materials are selected according to different uses. Before production, the raw materials must be dried and moisture removed to avoid pores or dimensional instability during injection molding.
During injection molding, the molten plastic is injected into a pre-made mold. This step determines the shape and precision of the gear. The mold design needs to consider parameters such as tooth shape size, demolding angle, and cooling speed. Slight deviations may cause the gear to run stuck or wear early. After the mold is opened, the molded gear is taken out and necessary deburring, inspection, and dimensional trimming are performed.
Some high-precision gears, such as those used in medical or optical equipment, will also be post-processed, such as trimming, adjusting pitch, and even secondary processing of tooth surface finish.
